New Wenchuan, Great China

Today , I was deeply shocked when I saw a picture of Wenchuan，which has changed so much that I could hardly recognize it. Everyone knows that 13 years ago, on May 12th, 2008, a terrible earthquake struck Wenchuan, Sichuan province of China, causing many houses destroyed and what was worse, more than 69,000 people lost their lives, 374,643 people injured and 17,923 people could not be found. In this terrible earthquake, people in Wenchuan suffered a lot.
There is a saying goes, our destiny offers not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity. Although the earthquake destroyed our home, but we can build a brand-new one. Our government has taken a lot of effective measures to help the people in Wenchuan rebuild their home during the past 13 years, and people all over China also have taken action actively. With the help of them, a new Wenchuan appears in front of us. Look, so many tall building stand where it used to be ruins. The whole city looks like a new garden. People in Wenchuan enjoy a comfortable life, recovering from the earthquake, both mentally and physically.
I know without the help of our great motherland, the survivors in Wenchuan could not lead so comfortable a life as it is now. I’m proud of living in such a powerful, mutual-aid country.
